 HERMETIC MUSEUM
This book is available NOW to order
In the twenty-two tracts that comprise The Hermetic Museum readers will recognize traces of a central claim in alchemical initiation: that the secrets, whatever they may be, must be understood as coming from a group of adepts, and that the knowledge has existed since time immemorial, revealing itself to a select few.
Arthur Edward Waite
From the editor:Many of the treatises are anonymous, but the names of the others are of historical legend:
John de Mehung
Helvetius
Michael Maier Nicholas Barnaud Delphinas
Nicholas Flamel
Eirenaeus Philalethes
Michael Sendivogius
Basilius Valentinus
Arthur Edward Waite's edition of The Hermetic Museum allowed students of the secret doctrines a unique opportunity to acquire these legendary texts in English. Working with an existing English translation (by an unknown translator) he prepared the text and contributed extensive editing and revision. A Weiser Classic, this one-volume edition collects all of the tracts that appeared in Waite's original 1893 two-volume set.
Arthur Edward Waite was one of the major architects of the 19th-century Occult Revival, and its most prolific author. His writing career spanned sixty years from 1878 to 1938 and included a remarkable range of subjects: poetry, fairy tales, the tarot, translations of Eliphas Levi, and many other aspects of the esoteric science.
Pages: 322, Hardcover, Illustrated Special Interest: Alchemy, Science, Medicine, Occult, Magick, Hermeticism, Arcana, Bibliophile, Ritual, Sorcery, Collector, Theosophy.
